We’ve all been told that there’s nothing new under the sun. But how about under the dark night sky?
This is some good news you can add to your “What my dues pay for?” file.
Things are looking brighter in Stephens Grove since the board installed new landscape lighting so you can appreciate the beauty of our clubhouse, monuments and community entrances, any time of day. Or night. Check out the clubhouse above.
“It looks amazing and what a difference it has made,” says board President Shannon Waterman, who is rightly proud of the effect and wanted you to see it, in case you hadn’t been out after dark lately. If you have been out, or you do go out in the near future, be sure to let Shannon know what you think. We’re predicting you will like it.
Aside from that, there are a lot of reasons why exterior lighting are good for a neighborhood. A moment’s Googling will give you a number of them, including:
- It makes your community safer. Your children and your neighbors are less likely to have accidents when they can see and be seen.
- It increases property values.
- It lowers crime rates. The area becomes far less attractive to burglars.
- It encourages you to get outdoors – which you’ll want to do more, as the days get warmer.
And of course, it just looks nice. Stephens Grove is already a lovely neighborhood when you can see it, and this helps you see it more.
As you can see in the above photo. And in the one below. As dark as the sky — and the pavement — are, you can’t miss those trees, and they look good. Be sure to check them out yourself one evening — it’s been unseasonably pleasant out lately — and let us know what you think!
